This section comprises of Time and Distance, Geometry, Equations, Profit and Loss and Percentages.

Hi Natarajan, IPMAT, conducted by IIM Indore is divided into 3 categories:

• Quantitative Analysis: This section contains topics like algebra, arithmetic, profit and loss, number system and so on. There are 40 questions on this section and the time available is 40 minutes.

• Quantitative Ability-SA: SA here stands for short answer questions. In QA, there are objective questions while in Quant SA, the questions are subjective and the major topics include: Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Equation, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Geometry. There are 20 questions on this section with 40 minutes to answer. There is no any negative marking for this section.

• Verbal Ability: Verbal ability section contains questions regarding para jumbles, reading comprehension, word usage, grammar, etc. There are 40 questions to answer in a givwn time of 40 minutes. 

Each question carries 4 marks. There is a penalty of one mark for each wrong answer.
