Persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs and whose family has a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh are only identified as EWSs for benefit of reservation.

Also, persons whose family owns or possesses any of the following assets shall be excluded from being identified as EWS, irrespective of the family income:

• 5 acres of agricultural land and above;
• A residential flat of 1000 sq ft. and above;
• A residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;
• A residential, plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the
  notified municipalities.

If you are a deserving candidate to be considered under the EWS quota – don’t miss the benefits provided by the government for Economically Weaker Sections. If the concerned Tehsildar or authorities is/are ignorant about the EWS provisions, show him/her the new EWS rules, and ask for the EWS certificate.

NTA hasn't officially released any information regarding EWS reservation in NEET counselling. So how it unfolds need to be seen. Because it is still a new reservation, it will take time. Meanwhile please keep all the documents ready and get a cwrtificate done from your local Tahsildat office. You will need 3 documents:
1. DOCUMENTS FOR DATE OF BIRTH: You have to provide any of the mentioned documents as said above in the article body.
*Birth certificate under the Birth. Death and Marriage Certificate Act. 1969.
*Hospital/Auxiliary urse and Midwife.(ANM) register record.
*Anganwadi Record.
*Declaration of age of the child by the parents or guardian.
2. DOCUMENTS FOR PROOF OF PRESENT RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS:-
*Ration card in the name of Parents having name of the Child in Ration card.
*Domicile certificate of child or his/her parents.. .
*Voter I card of any of the parents.
*Electricity Bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill.
*Unique Identity Card (Aadhar) of Mother/Father/Child issued by Govt. of India.
*Passport in the name of any of the parents or child
3. DOCUMENTS FOR PROOF OF ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS):-
*Income. certificate issued by ae Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar
*BPL Ration Card (Yellow coloured)
*AAY Ration Card (pink coloured)
*Food Security card.issued by Food & supply Dept.(GNCT of Delhi)
With these documents you can prove that you belong to EWS category.
