I hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that getting admission into top nits is not a easy task . Most of the top nits are in south india only like NIT trichy ,NIT calicut ,NIT warangal , NIT suratkal . If you are from north india then try to aim for NIT allahbad as placements of top 5 nits are almost same . If we talk about your  cutt of you rank should be atleast 5000 for general category for getting admission into core branches like CSE
