Hi Aspirant,
You did not mention whether you want to join an undergraduate or a postgraduate course.
If you want to pursue an undergraduate course in biotechnology then you can do B.Sc in Biotechnology or B.Tech in Biotechnology. It depends on your choice.
Similarly, if you want to pursue a postgraduate course in biotechnology then you can do M.Sc in biotechnology or M.Tech in biotechnology.
For B.Sc Biotechnology: A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) at both secondary and higher secondary (classes X and XII). And biology, physics and chemistry as the main subject at 10+2 level, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% in this three.
For B.Tech Biotechnology, you need to achieve a proper rank in entrance exams like WBJEE, JEE Main or another entrance exam in different colleges. And then you can get admission through counselling.
For M.Sc Biotechnology, you again need an appropriate aggregate in your undergraduate level. And for getting admission to some colleges, you need to achieve a good rank in the entrance exam.
For M.Tech Biotechnology, you need to achieve a proper rank in entrance exam like GATE. Aur you can appear in some admission test in some colleges.
Good Luck! Hope it will help you!

Hi Priyadharshine,

First of all score 75% in Boards to be eligible for the government colleges like NIT or IIT or 60 % for other colleges.

You have to give national level or state level college entrance test for the good colleges like VIT,MIT,COMEDK,WBJEE,DU JEE Mains and advance.Score well in JEE mains and then in Advance.By Mains you get NITs and by Advance, you will get IITs.

Top colleges in India for Biotechnology:-

1-IIT,Kharagpur.

2-P.S.G College of technology,Coimbator.

3-DTU,Delhi.

4-NIT,Warangal.

5-VIT,Vellore

Hope this will help, please feel free to ask if you have nay further queries.

Thank You.
