The ratio of boys to girls in IIT-Bombay is very stark.

The percentage of girls entering IIT-B was approximately a mere 8% of the total number of 929 seats across 16 streams and the maximum in the previous years was around 9% only in the previous years. Hence, there is an enormous difference in the number of male and female students causing a gender imbalance in the campus.
