You may feel dejected after reading this answer but I am sorry this is the truth.Biotechnology is emerging field and every year gaining double-digit growth rate.Biotechnology is a heavy subject which requires a lot of professional skills, analytical thinking, perseverance, patience. However, you’ll always find people crying because it does not give immediate results, unlike IT, management fields.Sadly not many students especially the scenario in India where Money is given utmost priority become capable. In short very few are capable or worthy of it. It is definitely not for people who want to settle down quickly, want an average life and then die. But definitely for those who love knowing the nature, biology and working of the complex system of life Sadly, not all Biotech students are actually interested in pursuing a career in this domain and keep cussing about it. As a result, most of the Biotech students give up the idea of continuing higher studies in Biotechnology after Bachelors or Masters.

In India where an engineering student of Computer Science field #Coder have an average salary package of 15 lakhs; where finding a job in the field of biotechnology in India is alone very difficult and your maximum package is 5 lakhs that too after doing post graduation in Biotechnology. Indians give more career options to software and management students, therefore, there is not much of a scope of bagging career in biotechnology in India.

Thanks for asking. There are few career options that you can opt for, after you'r done with the graduation in biotechnology:

You can work for a lot of pharma companies available or you can try your luck in healthcare segment

You can apply for masters and then probably, you can go for research later(PhD) or into lecturer-ship.

You can directly also work in the field of research (Market Research etc.)

However, you can even apply as Research Assistant at various places.

Good Luck!
