JNU Entrance Exam is conducted in online mode in MCQs format for a duration of three hours in English, there are a total of 100 questions, each carry one mark, there is no negative marking scheme, the syllabus for MA Economics entrance exam at JNU consists of Micro-economics with topics such as Demand Curves, Price and Income Elasticity of Demand, Cost Curves, Equilibrium of Firm under Perfect Competition and Monopoly , Macroeconomics with topics such as National Income, Theories of Income Determination, Monetary Policy, Trade and Balance of Payments
Descriptive Statistics with topics such as
Mean, Median and Mode, Standard Deviation, Correlation Coefficient , Elementary Probability Theory , Mathematics for Economists with topics such as Elementary Algebra, Coordinate Geometry and Elementary Calculus. Problems of Economic History, Underdevelopment and Growth with emphasis on India's Economic Development prior to Independence, Planning and Development experience of India since Independence; Basic indicators of Development, International Economics Issues of Contemporary Relevance.
