Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the popular institution for Engineering. To get admission, One has to take the VITEEE. Admissions are done through the VITEEE counselling on the basis of merit list in VITEEE. Once the Counselling details for VITEEE are released, shortlisted candidates based on their merit rank will be called for the counselling. The seat allotment in VIT counselling will be done on the basis of AIR in VITEEE. Each successful candidate can attend the counselling once.

On the very first day of Counselling, Students who have secured rank upto 8000 are usually called for counselling.

On the second day, rank 8000 to 14000 will be called.

Third day, rank holders who get rank between 14000 to 20000 will be called.

And for the Last day of counselling rank holders above 20,0000 are expected to be called.

Vellore Institute Of technology has two campuses, one in Vellore and other is in Chennai. There are around 5000 seats are available for the B.tech course. Generally, around 2 lacs students appear in the exam, Therefore acceptance rate is very low. Total marks in VITEEE-125, So you have to answer 80% correctly to secure a place. To get a seat in your favourite branch, you have to secure the rank between 1-300 with minimum marks 120-122. And Specialy if you want the branches Like IT, ECE and Computer Science, because these branches are in high demand now these days. So, it’s hard to get these branches after the first counselling.

You need to score 60-70 marks in VITEEE to get into VIT campus but for main branch your aim should be 100.

There is no specified ranks if you have got money you can take admission in any branch you like in any campus. I have seen students with nearly 1lac rank getting seats in the main campus for Cse.



You can choose Vit with nearly 7-8k rank in their exam to get Cse in main campus with an avg fee of 2lac per annum and with rank under 1k you are eligible for various scholarships too....

VIT does not disclose marks and cutoff's officialy. But being a student in VIT i can tell you that if you want your preffered brach then you must be under 5000 rank.

Below 5000 you can easily get CSE in Vellore campus and below 7000 you can get ECE.

So, it's all upto you which branch you want.
