Hello nv8573250

I hope you are doing good. I would like to know you that for getting admission in top nits through Sc category candidate should atleast 85 percentile . Scoring above 85 percentile will land you in a very safe zone. For SC catgeory their are almost 2993 seats are reserved in total for all banches. Its is very difficult to predict the minimum marks because cut off vary every year depending on difficulty level of exam

Hi

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentilerequired in JEE mains as closing rank keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

You need at least around 86 percentile to get a seat in an NITs, IIITs if you belong to SC category.

For example,

For other state, closing rank for some of the lower nits /IIITs for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for sc category  :

  • NIT AP , Metallurgical and Materials Engineering :- 8450 sc rank

  • National Institute of Technology, Nagaland, Instrumentation Engineering :- 8641 sc rank

  • National Institute of Technology Agartala, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering :- 9207 sc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Nagpur, Electronics and Communication Engineering  :- 9884 sc rank

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

From above, it is clear that you need at least a rank of around 8000 to 9000 sc rank to get into an NITs / IIITs . And to get a rank in this range, you need at atleast around 86 percentile  i. e 70 marks as per our rank predictor at
