Hi Subash, the cut off rank /mark for a particular exam depends on the following:

-Total students who appeared
-Total Marks
-First Mark

On basis of mark, suppose A person X scores 560 out of 700,his percentile score will be

560/700 *100 =80 is the percentile based on
     X's  performance

This system is not reliable as many students may get the same marks and hence the same percentile.

In entrance exams, the main aim of the examiner is what differentiates you from others. So the percentile score calculation differs

For Eg. 10 lakh students appeared for NEET 2017, In which a student Y secures AIR 90

The calculation goes by  :

            10,00,000-90/10,00,000*100=99.99 is the percentile which
differentiates Y.

The decimals may go upto 7-8 digits, since this was an example I made it simple to you...

The cutoff would hence depend on the first mark and difficult of the paper. The passing criteria(eligibility) is to get a minimum percentile score of 50.

Any other queries, feel free to comment

All the best..

Hi Subhash! It is very difficult to predict the cut-off for NEET 2019 because the exam has a lot of variable factors which include the court hearings in Supreme Court, the number of students appearing the exam, the marks scored by students in total as well as in each subject. In NEET 2017, apparently, differently papers were set for different languages. Hopefully, by next year the processes for NEET and Medical Counselling are stabilised and more convenient for the students. More than worrying about marks, you should focus on your preparation. Here are a few tips for NEET preparation: - BOOKS: Please follow the link https://www.careers360.com/question-to-score-top-ranks-in-neet-which-book-should-be-preffered?icn=question-title-details&ici=topic-detail-page - PAPERS: When you practice these papers, solve them in a mock exam format and analyse your papers after that, outlining strengths and weaknesses. These questions are seldom repeated, their main purpose is to develop time management skills. Check out the following link: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-sample-paper - STUDY MANAGEMENT: 1) Skills: Everybody shows a diversity of study skills and tactics. To know how you learn best, refer to your education consultant in school, if any 2) Habits: You need to figure out which duration of the day you attain your peak concentration levels and do the most difficult topics during that time. Study the other topics during other timings. Also, figure out which place is most ideal for you, clear of things you find distracting. 3) Planning: The old saying, "If you are failing to plan, then you're planning to fail" applies here as well. It saves a lot of time as you have an agenda of what you want to accomplish. Don't be disheartened if you are not able to complete one of the goals, no plan can be 100% perfect. I recommend, not to make rigid plans, keep it flexible - MANAGING YOURSELF: Preparing for this exam is not an easy feat but it is a learning experience. You should also enjoy and keep yourself happy, otherwise a bitter attitude will take a toll on you later Hope this answers your question! Arika (CR @ Careers360)

It is really difficult to predict the cutoff of 2019 . Because it's not following any trend every year it's unexpected and random . After seeing the question paper it's possible to predict the cutoff and that too would be very vague .
So I would just say work hard give it ur best shot u will get selected in college of ur choice .
All the best ....
