Hello aspirant,

Cutoff that you need in choosing colleges/departments primarily depends on your community (FC/BC/MBC/SC/….).

If you are from FC and you want mechanical in PSG, then make sure your cutoff is around 199/200. For BC, it might be around 198 and it reduces further for other communities.

Also, it depends on number of students opting mechanical engineering in PSG. These days application for engineering counseling is getting down. So there might be a chance of reduction in cutoff for all departments.

Hope this will be helpful..

Hello Raji Viji

Cutoffs vary every year due to the paper difficulty level, no. of students appearing for the exam and the counselling and no. of seats available in the college. So the exact cutoff cannot be informed but according to the previous year trends, it may be around 200. But you can kindly visit the mentioned below links for more information about the cutoffs, counselling and the college

Hi aspirant,

Mechanical engineering department in psg institute of technology is the much recognized department and the college is one among the top engineering colleges of the state. therefore cut off needed to obtain a seat there is much high and touches the range of 185-190 as the base cut off required.the admission process is closed for the academic year and you can try your chances next year

Hope this helps
