All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna is a public university established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. AIIMS Patna's official inauguration ceremony was on 25th September 2012. The university is recognised as an ‘Institute of National Importance’ by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
