Yes, There is proposal to increase the MBBS seats from year 2020 from 200 to 250. Currently i.e., up to 2019 there are 54 of 200 MBBS seats in JIPMER(150 in Puducherry and 50 in Karaikal) are earmarked for Puducherry students. Admissions to MBBS course in JIPMER, Puducherry and JIPMER, Karaikal, will be through NEET(National Eligibility Test) and entrance test will be conducted by the National Testing Agency and not by JIPMER from 2020 onwards.
