Dear Aspirant,

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a renowned institution which is known for its unique combination of courses when it comes to Humanities and Social Sciences. For the subject History, they have triple majors programme which consists of two other subjects- Economics and Political Science. It is also known as HEP. Other available combination with History is EPH- English, Political Science and History.

The eligibility criteria for the course is as follows:

  • The student must have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board/university.
  • Candidates writing their exams in 2020 (March-May) can also apply.
  • For the International curriculum, there are specific refits and scores for the student to check. In case, you fall into that category, check here:

To understand, how to prepare for this, let's look at the selection process. The catch here is that there is no entrance test for the selection process. They rather have these three components as the criteria for selection:

  1. Skill Assessment
  2. Personal Interview
  3. Academic Performance

Now, what is skill assessment? Skill Assessment will require you to write an essay type answer to assess your writing skills, communication skills and logical reasoning. You will not have to prepare for specific topics. You will have to comprehend your vies in a rational way and your articulation of thoughts, ideas and if you can communicate them properly will be checked. Write the assessment in 500-600 words and structure your answer properly. Topics would be something like- “Does Social Media make one lonely?” “Should Yoga be mandatory in schools?” “How does schools co curricular activities help in ones personality development.”

Apart from this, the Personal Interview will require to remain confident and calming honest about your answers. You have to show them your conviction and should know why you want to take the combination and not just history as they often ask about the reasons for choosing all three. Keep your introduction simple and effective and enter with a smile. Be authentic. Be yourself. Know that they are trying to test you, so beware of what is happening around. Here they may also ask valid questions about your academic record if they see any ups and downs in your previous result. Also prepare current affairs here as questions might be asked.

So, there are no specific books for preparing for this. the admission is ongoing and if you have filed up the form or are filling up. You must check your admit card properly for the date and venue of the process.

Hope this helps. All the best!
