Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) is a State University located in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. It has ranked 11 ^th among Agricultural Universities of India and 137 ^th in NIRF rankings of Indian Universities. The University has more than 12 colleges under its affiliation. It is the second oldest agricultural university in the country.

So as per the present scenario of our country, there is a lot of scope for agriculture and agriculture related allied streams. The present government at the centre as well as the state government is implementing various schemes for the development of agriculture and farmers community.
