NIFT was established in 1986 under the ministry of textiles, government of India.NIFT currently has 17 campuses spread across the country.The 1st campus at New Delhi was established in 1986.NIFT offers undergraduate,post graduate and doctoral programmes in design,management and technology.NIFT Shillong started its humble beginning from June 2008 and now centre is offering 4 undergraduate 4 years courses:Fashion Design,Accessory Design,Fashion Communication and Textile Design and one post graduate 2 years course: Master of Fashion Management.The institute portrays itself as a leader in Fashion education in the state.NIFT Shillong Has committed itself in exploring growth paradigms and to act like a catalyst in formulating the structural roadmap for the apparel and allied industry.It is looking forward to contribute towards upliftment of the craftsmen through workshops and design intervention Where as NIFT Campus set up at panchkula in 2019 with continuing education programmes.NIFT Panchkula accepts NIFT Entrance Exam scores for admission.NIFT Panchkula initially started functioning from a temporary campus and soon will be shifted to full-fledged permanent campus.Three regular courses are starting from the academic session 2020-21. As of now NIFT Shillong is better and we'll developed comparatively.
