Being a "JAVA developer "  or "PSU engineer" might be confusing .You can decide by analysing a few situations like:
 Java developer    /       PSU Engineer

Job security:         Private job (No security)     /                                  Government job(Secure till your retirement)

Average Salary(2019):            4-5 lakhs p.a/                                                        6-7 lakhs p.a

Increase in salary:                  depends on your efficiency /          linearly

Work pressure :                      A lot /     Almost Nil

Extra work:                          Learn new technologies   /  No need to learn from yourself.       


It completely depends on you what you want.Though Java is in trend nowadays but python and other programming language will supress it anyways.If you are in PSUs you will spend peaceful life with a normal salary but if you are in corporate sector then you can earn a lot but you will have to work on yourself everyday.
