Hello Aspirant,

SDO (Sub-division Officer)

SDO means Sub-divisional Officers.

He/she is placed in a specific department in a district subdivision and is responsible for its department.

Posting in either Electricity Department, PWD, Irrigation Department, etc.

SDO utilizes the power of the “Land Revenue Code”.

You can be an SDO by giving a state PSC examination.

B.D.O or the Block Development Officer is a part of the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) of a state and is the administrative chief of a block (consisting of several Gram Panchayats).

So, to serve as a B.D.O., you require to clear the PCS exam/state civil services exam conducted by the Public Service Commission of your respective state.

All these posts are “Group A” Gazetted officers in a subdivision.

I hope it helps.
