In HBTU counselling, your CRL rank will be considered. If you belongs to any reservation category, you will get a seat at low rank as compared to general category. Let me show you an example:

2019-2020 Cutoff for Civil Engg:
Open (General): 21348 - 44141
Open (Girl): 49924 - 58472
EWS (General and girl): 47593 - 48795
BC (General or no sub category): 44607 - 53819
BC (Girl): 79947 - 82178

All are general ranks of different categories.
