We understan your concerns. Your SC rank is used for admission into institutes and their courses if you are unable to get admission based upon general rank. If you are provided a seat as per the general merit rank only, your general rank was sufficient for the same  and category not required. There are a number of reserved seats in a particular collge for reserved candidates. If they are filled, then your general rank comes into role with other students.
