Placements: Most placements happen in Vellore. Students from Chennai often come to Vellore for placements and fests. Opportunities are more in Vellore as compared to Chennai.

Campus: Vellore has huge so it has better labs and infrastructures.

Study :Well if you compare the quality of study then they are almost same but as said Vellore has more exposures.

Competition: I would also like to mention that Vellore has more competition than Chennai.
