The Moroccan scholar Ibn Battuta was born in 1304. Ibn Battuta travelled over the Afghan mountains to reach India in 1334, at the height of the Tughlaq dynasty, which was ruled by Muhammad bin Tughluq. Ibn Battuta wrote on the characteristics of the Tughlaq dynasty in his book Travel Memoirs, 1334–1341. Furthermore, Ibn Battuta's travelogues are recorded in "Rihla: My Travels."
