Hello Sonu
At the end of the day, B.tech is B.tech and B.Sc would always be considered less than B.Tech. you can often see B.Sc grads going for B.Tech.
So if you are getting B.Tech in a good college and are ready to invest your 4 years in that, then go for B.tech.
Without giving it a second thought. Because you would have a lot more options in your hand after you would complete your B.Tech as compared to B.Sc
Because it is the course that matters at last.
Good luck

B.Tech in food technology revolves around all the aspects of post harvest technology and commercially opted technology along with traditional kitchen methods. You get a wholesome knowledge and you are called an engineer. The job opportunities are better in case of an engineer after graduation as compared to a simple B.Sc graduate.

You get exposure to industry in terms of internships, while in case of B.Sc that depends on your interest.

The treatment that the college provides you as a future professional do train you for the future similar subjects.

If I talk about food technology fron NIFTEM then it is a bit different as it offers you a food technology and management degree and hencs teaches you more about being a good manager as well. It surely helps in Development of managerial skills in a person to an extent.

On the other hand if you want to go on with research then B.Sc could be a better option. But if you plan to go for industrial jobs then B.Tech can prove to be better.

I hope the answer helps you!

Hi Sonu

Both courses are good. B. Tech Food technology is a professional undergraduate degree which ranges 4 years duration. Whereas B.Sc Food technology is also an undergraduate course which ranges 3 years duration. Both deal with food science but B.Tech deals more with the food industry and B.Sc deals with Principles of food science. If you are interested in Engineering, choose B.Tech or Science, choose B.Sc.

All the best.

They are a bit different courses .Btech food technology works on the practical aspects of food industry . You can become food chain manager ,data analyst, food control manager etc .While after taking you can become dietician ,nutritionist etc .Now coming to your question if you have to select any one in between them then I will suggest B.Tech rather than bsc . You can get admissions in institutes such as IITs or NITs for food tech. There is also more placents in btech food technology than bsc .You can also research more about placements after btech or bsc food tech .
Best wishes
