Mr. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the First Prime Minister of Independent India. He was from the  Indian National Congress Party. He was the Prime Minister of India from 1947 from India's Independence to 1964, until his death. He is also called Pandit Nehru due to his ancestral roots in Kashmir. He brought in the concept of "Secular Nation-state".
