No college can guarantee you a secure future, it all depends on your capabilities and skills that you posses, you can get into any IIT or top notch college, but at the end of it, what you do there matter the most.

Coming to the VIT, Vellore, it is perhaps one of the best colleges available in the country and you can get a good enough placement if you score well and have adequate skills. Average package is around 7-8 Lac per annum. And you could even get higher.

IT/CS are the top branches in engineering as of now and will remain the top branches for many years to come. It is a good future for your career doing IT from VIT, as VIT has a very decent placements with average package at 6 lpa for the last year with highest package of about 30 lakh per annum.
