You need to score 600+ marks in order to secure a seat in government college as you have not mentioned your category ,your marks , state which you belong to so for government seat 600+ marks are required .South India consists of many states and cutoff of every state varies every year depending on number of students appearing in the exam, difficulty level of exam, students scoring more than you and your category.
