hello,

As per NEET norms, 85% of seats in all Government medical and dental colleges across the country are reserved for the candidates who are domiciles of the state in which a college is located. The remaining 15% seats in these colleges are open for All India candidates. The 85% quota therefore refers to the State Quota, reserved for domiciles of a particular state for the seats offered by medical and dental colleges in that state, while the 15% quota refers to the All India Quota, reserved for candidates from across the country for Government medical and dental colleges.

I hope this helps.

Sethuraman,  it depends on which state you belong to.  If you belong to Maharashtra and have the required documents of domicile to prove the same,  you are eligible for 85 % state quota seats of Maharashtra only.  For other states you will have to apply for All India Quota seats.  Generally it is seen that state quota seats have lower cutoffs than all india quota seats. This means you have better chances of getting a college in your state than other states. Hope this helps
