NEET sports quota can only be availed through the state counseling and not through the All India Quota. Also, one must keep in mind that not all colleges provide sports quota to the candidates.

The eligibility criteria is that the aspirant must hold an district level, state level or national level certificate in any sport . After qualifying the examination, you will be required to submit your sports certificate while attending the counseling procedure. Hence, yes, a certificate/medal/trophy will indeed be useful to the candidate if his/her state provides sports quota facility in its medical colleges.
