During the two-year training period, candidates are paid a monthly stipend based on their skill set and education.

Eligibility Criteria of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Courses

The eligibility criteria for aircraft maintenance engineering courses are as follows:

For Undergraduates:

  • A candidate who has completed or passed a recognized board 10+2 with PCM.
  • A minimum of 45% in 10+2 with PCM or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of engineering diploma in any stream from a recognized. university/board or AICTE-approved institution.
  • Anyone who is eligible for a B.Tech in any stream can pursue AME courses.
  • At the time of admission, candidates' ages range from 16 to 28.
  • The candidate must not be colour blind or have any physical disabilities.

For Post Graduates:

  • A candidate must have a minimum of 50% in a BTech in any background or related field in aircraft maintenance engineering.
  • Entrance exams are held for admission to reputable universities and colleges. Candidates are chosen for admission to some universities based on their high school grades.

Entrance Exams for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Courses


The AME CET is a national-level common entrance exam for admission to various aviation courses throughout India. AME CET encourages and guides students with an interest in aviation to select the best carrier option for them. AME CET provides admission to aviation-related licences, graduation, diploma, and certification courses such as pilot, engineering, maintenance, hospitality, and management. All qualified students can receive up to a 100% scholarship from AME CET. The AME CET 2023 exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions (Multiple Choice Questions). Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and General Awareness questions will be asked.

The AME CET question papers will be available in both Hindi and English, but in the event of any ambiguity, the English version will be considered final. This exam will be given both online and in person. The free structure for AME CET is as follows: 

  • Males in the General and OBC categories pay Rs. 1500/-.
  • Female candidates and SC/ST candidates will be charged Rs. 1300/-


Joint Admissions Exam Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in India is a national-level joint entrance exam for aircraft maintenance engineering admission. The exam is held in both English and Hindi. Admission is granted to candidates in counselling based on their AIR (All India Rank) in JEE AME.


For admission to aircraft maintenance engineering, the All India Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Examination is held on a national scale.
