Doing bsc after 12th boards is good decision but it has to be bold enough as you must have a keen interest in the core subjects like physics , chemistry, etc . It must also be clear that scope and opportunities in this field are also wide spread . At last I will tell you that you can surely opt for this field .

jnu pg entrance test will be an mcq tyoe entrance test, duration will be 4 hours,
JNU paper for M.Sc. entrance paper has two parts.
The first part has questions from Science and Mathematics (based on 10+2)
Second part of JNU paper for MSc. courses carries questions from Physics, Botany, Geology, Zoology, Chemistry and Mathematics of B.Sc. level.

Yes , you can apply for M.A programs , as mostly M.A programs have eligibility criteria that you should have successfully completed your Bachelor's degree (preferably arts) of a minimum 3 or 4-year duration (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) . Both are considered .
Only , the bachelor's or master's degree should be from a university which is recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission) of India and you should have passed in all subjects from the 1st to 6th semester.

The exam pattern is such that there will be subjective and objective questions. The syllabus is mainly the undergraduate level concepts.You can go through the following topics as well :
Political Theory and Thought ,Comparative Politics and Political Analysis, Indian Government and Politics, Bureaucracy and Public Administration,International Relations,Social and Political thought of Modern India,Concepts and approaches in Political theory.
