To get admission into AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) , one of the most prestigious medical colleges in India, you need to score very high marks in the NEET UG exam , as it is the only entrance exam used for AIIMS MBBS admissions now.
For General category students , you usually need to score above 680–710 marks out of 720 in NEET to have a chance at AIIMS Delhi, which is the topmost among all AIIMS institutions. The cut-off varies slightly each year depending on the difficulty of the exam, number of applicants, and seat availability.
For reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC , the cutoff may be slightly lower:
OBC : 650–680 marks
SC : around 600–630 marks
ST : 580–610 marks Still, competition is very high and the seats are limited, so even with reservation, a strong score is necessary.
Also, there are multiple AIIMS campuses across India such as AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Bhubaneswar etc. Their cutoffs are a bit lower compared to AIIMS Delhi, but still in the top 1–2 percentile of NEET scorers.
Extra tip : Focus not just on your NEET marks but also on your accuracy and speed during the exam , because every mark counts in AIIMS admissions. Also, be ready for counselling rounds after the results — choose your preferences wisely and keep documents ready.
The difficulty level of the AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing exam is generally considered moderate to high. The exam tests knowledge in core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, based on the Class 12 curriculum, with additional questions in General Knowledge.
- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology: These sections are concept-heavy and require a strong understanding of Class 12 NCERT books. The questions are more application-based and require analytical thinking.
- General Knowledge: This section is often considered less challenging but requires staying updated with current affairs, health-related news, and general science.
In short, consistent preparation and a solid grasp of the core subjects are key to managing the difficulty.

Hey! Don’t panic. If you’ve accidentally entered your father’s name instead of your mother’s in the AIIMS M. Biotech form, it won’t affect your eligibility for the exam . However, make sure to carry the correct documents (like Aadhaar, birth certificate, etc.) during counselling for verification.
You can also try to explain and request a correction during document verification or counselling stage. Many such errors are handled there.
Stay calm and focus on your exam prep. Hope this helps!
Hello Vishal,
It is not possible to get admission to AIIMS without appearing for NEET . After 2019, AIIMS started conducting MBBS admissions through the NEET UG exam. This means that to get admission to AIIMS for MBBS or any other medical course, you must clear the NEET UG exam.
If you do not want to appear for NEET , you can consider applying for other programs at AIIMS, such as nursing , paramedical courses , etc. These programs also have their own entrance exams.
So, if you are interested in MBBS or medical courses at AIIMS, you will have to appear for NEET .
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
