Hii,
If you are interested in BAMS (Ayurveda)—it’s a growing field with solid scope in India. BAMS admission is mainly done through NEET UG. If you’ve appeared in NEET 2025, you’ll need to participate in AYUSH counselling which is handled centrally and by states.
Here are a few popular BAMS colleges in India:
• Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi
• Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune
• Govt. Ayurvedic College, Rivandrum
• National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur
Dear aspirant,
The BAMS cut offs for the EWS category through NEET vary every year. It is determined by the minimum qualifying percentile and the corresponding scores, as well as the specific college and its cutoff ranks . The qualifying percentile for the EWS category is the 50th percentile, which translates to a score range of 720-137 in NEET 2024. For BAMS admissions, the specific cutoff ranks for colleges vary. For example, in 2024, the closing rank for the EWS category at the State Model Institute of Ayurveda Sciences in Gandhinagar was 62529 . But the rank you have mentioned is really higher than the closing rank. Even though it varies in different colleges but it's really unlikely to get a BAMS seat with the above mentioned rank. With 107 marks in general category, you are not eligible for government BAMS seats. But you may get admission in private BAMS colleges under management quota, depending on the state's cutoff and seat availability.
Yes, SNQ quota can be useful in some courses, but it is not commonly used for BAMS admission.
SNQ means Supernumerary Quota. It is an extra quota made mainly for students from economically weaker backgrounds. This quota is mostly available in engineering and technical courses. In medical courses like BAMS, SNQ quota is usually not available.
BAMS admission is mostly done through NEET score. Seats are given based on all India quota, state quota, category quota like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or sometimes management quota. SNQ quota is not mentioned for BAMS in most states.
But each state has its own counselling process for BAMS. So, it is better to check your state’s official counselling website to confirm if SNQ quota is used for BAMS in your state.

Hello,
If your rank is 126712 in NEET UG 2025, you have a low to moderate chance in the AIR quota, unless you belong to a reserved category. But still you have a good chance in the state quota because state cutoffs are low compared to the AIR, or All India Rank quota. So, you can try for state quota if BDS and BAMS seat in these states are like
I hope it resolves your query!!
good afternoon, for admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) in India, the NEET UG exam is the primary and mandatory entrance test for most colleges both government and private.
NEET UG is conducted by NTA and is the only accepted exam for BAMS admission under the Ministry of AYUSH guidelines2.
Admission is granted through central (AACCC) and state-level counseling based on NEET scores.
No other national-level exam is accepted for BAMS in regular colleges.
A few deemed universities or minority institutions may offer BAMS seats without NEET, often through management quota or direct admission, but these are limited and not widely recognized.
Some state-level entrance exams (like CETs) used to exist but have largely been phased out in favor of NEET.
Hello
With an AIR of 267598 in NEET, getting a seat in a government BAMS college is quite difficult, especially in the general category. However, if you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and your state has lower cutoffs, there might be a chance in later rounds.
