I did Diploma in mechanical engineering branch , Can I change my branch from this to Computer science (cyber security and forensic)

Nitin Kumar 21st May, 2024

Yes, you can change your branch from Mechanical Engineering to Computer Science (Cyber Security and Forensics) after your diploma.

Many universities offer a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science with a lateral entry option for diploma holders. This allows you to join the second year of the program, potentially saving you time and money. However, the specific eligibility criteria and entrance exams can vary depending on the university.
Some universities offer Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech.) degrees in Information Technology (IT) with a specialization in Cyber Security or Digital Forensics. While not strictly computer science, these programs provide a strong foundation in IT and relevant security and forensics skills.

I hope it helps!

I want to get into an engineering college in Mumbai. Ive appeared for JEE MAINS 2024 from Assam. What steps should I follow to get into a college in Mumbai?

Khushi Vijay 29th Jan, 2024

If you are seeking admission in an engineering college in Mumbai, then you have 2 options that you could follow:

Either you go ahead with the first option, which is, to get admission through JEE. Since you have already appeared for JEE, you need not worry.

  • The second option that you have is to get admission through the MHT CET entrance exam. The MHT CET exam is a state level entrance exam which helps students take admission into the colleges of Maharashtra. Another thing to note here is that through the MHT CET exam, students from other states (except Maharashtra) have an added advantage of getting 15% reservation of seats in the private colleges of Maharashtra

Another thing to keep in mind is that when the JoSAA counselling starts and you start doing your choice filling, do it very carefully. If you specifically want colleges only in Mumbai or neighbouring areas in Maharashtra, then make sure to do the choice filling keeping in mind the location.

If you need any more information regarding which colleges you would be eligible for based on your rank and details, then you can refer to the Careers360 JEE Main College Predictor: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor

I am interested in graphic designing and coding. how do I make a career .which stream should I go.what engineering subject to take

Garima Sihag 7th May, 2024

In India, the design and coding fields offer exciting career options that can leverage your interest in both. Here's how you can navigate this path:

Choosing Your Stream:

  • Graphic Design Focus: Consider a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a design diploma. Build a strong portfolio showcasing your creative skills. Learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to understand web development better. Many online resources and bootcamps offer these introductory courses.

  • Coding Focus: Pursue a Computer Science degree or a coding bootcamp in India. These programs are intensive but can equip you with strong coding skills quickly. While building your coding prowess, take online courses in graphic design principles and UI/UX design.

Engineering Subjects (for a Degree):

  • Information Technology (IT): This offers a good mix of web development, networking, and database management, all valuable for web design/development roles.

  • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI): This is a specialized field that bridges the gap between design and computer science, focusing on how users interact with technology. It's a perfect choice if you're interested in both aspects.
