You can start preparing for GRE from any time that you are comfortable as GRE scores are valid for five years from the year that you have given the examination. GRE(Graduate Record Examinations) is an exam which is held worldwide on majorly 2 basic formats.
General Test: It is the standard exam which tests students on their level of verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical skills. Now to brief up on the given topics on how a student is assesed:
Verbal Reasoning: It analyses relationships among parts of sentences and the relation of words in a given comprehension.
Three types of questions comes under it:
1. Reading Comprehensions
2. Text Completion
3. Sentence Equivalence
The Topics that will be helpful in covering the GRE syllabus are:
1. Basic Sentence structures
2. Tenses, Idioms and idomatic expressions.
3. Pronoun Agreement and Subject-Verb Agreement
4. Modifiers and Parallelisms
Quantitative Reasoning: This section aims at masuring the understanding and management of quantitative skills of the applicant. List of topics involve:
1. Probability
2. Statistics
3. Algebra
4. Geometry
5. Pipes and Cisterns
6. Order of Operations
And Last but not the least is The Analytical Writing Section
