Hello,
You can relax for the first year. You can start preparing for it from your 2nd year. Build your aptitude and communication skills. Develop your writing and speaking skills. That is all anybody says, but in a slightly longer version. Try to give studying ample amount of time from your day.

Hi, I did my BE in Automobile eng, currently working at an MNC for 3 yrs, I wish to pursue MEM, do I have to take the GRE or IELTS will do?

Ayush Agarwal 13th Jun, 2019

Hi Anuj,

First of all congratulations on such a great job. Now GRE and IELTS as you ask, are not the same exams. Mostly all the exams which you will shortlist to take an admission in will ask for both GRE and IELTS or TOEFL marks. Now every college takes different considerations on what basis will they take their admissions, some may ask GRE and IELTS  or some may ask for GRE and TOEFL. So please choose an exam according to the college from which you want to pursue you Engineering Management course.

I hope it clears your doubt,

Do send away queries on the portal for any further doubts

Thank you

I am graduating at present from electronics and communiction department.Which GRE test should I apply for(Subject/General)?

Mille Sharma 10th Jun, 2019

Hey there!

You should apply for GRE general test. GRE subject test is an additional test given by students for showing their knowledge depth in one subject. GRE general test is necessary to be given in order to apply for graduate schools but GRE subject tests are not (in most cases). However, some colleges might ask for GRE subject tests as well as the GRE general test for applying, so do check the college's (in which you are planning to apply to) website. For more information regarding GRE tests and it's preparation tips, you are advised to visit the following links:

My queries are as following: 1. I planned to take admission for PHD course in fall 2020. 2. Please give complete flow chart.

Mille Sharma 10th Jun, 2019

Hey there!

-Firstly, chalk out the colleges you would want to apply to based on your interests, the college's/ univerisity's ranking etc.

-Secondly, for applying to a PHD program abroad, start by looking at the admission criteria for the colleges you are planning to apply to by visiting their websites. Some colleges require you to take just the GRE general test but some might ask for GRE subject tests too, depending on the course/ research area you are planning to go for.

-Apart from that, you will also have to take English profiency tests such as IELTS and TOEFL.

-Make sure to get in touch with your professors from your current college for recommendation letters.

-Write a strong statement of purpose.

-Additionally, make a CV, if you haven't. Most colleges don't require it but some might.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Whether only one GRE (General or Subject) can be taken or both can be taken simultaneously.

Charan Tej 30th May, 2019

Hi Ashwani,

As far as I am concerned, you can only take one GRE at a time. If you are interested in both then you can take one in one attempt and the other in the coming attempt as the scores are valid for a period of 5 years.

All the best..!!!
