i ve got 7.2 in 10th and 62.7% in 12th nd 70% in graduation, may i know i can get admission in iim ahemdabad with 90+ in cat?

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 26th Mar, 2020
Hello,
Getting a call from any IIMs depends on a lot  of factors. Although the exact weightage of each is not known but it includes: Marks scored in clasa X and XII, subject and score of graduation, work experience, CAT percentile.
So, as of now, the only thing you can work upon is your CAT percentile.
You need to have 99+ percentile for IIM Ahmedabad.
Don't worry, there have been candidates who secured below 70% marks in school and graduation and got a call from IIM A.
So, prepare hard for CAT and try to achieve 99.5+ percentile. You will  have high chances of getting a call from top IIMs.

I have 7.2 cgpa in 10th standard n 64% in 12th and 61% In graduation.... Im valid for which IIM?

Adil Suaib Khan Student Expert 25th Mar, 2020

Hii Premal,

You have a very average score in your class 10th and 12th and keeping them in mind it'll be really difficult for you to get calls from most of the older IIMs as they value academics a lot. Furthermore your course in graduation  also matters and may increase your chances of getting a call too. You can certainly try to get in but the ideal percentile would be 99+ and not a mark below if you want to get in right after your undergraduation.

See if you get certain amount of work ex of maybe 2 years then it'll be relatively easier for you. Fms is one such college which doesn't value acads much but still the process is rigorous.

IIM Calcutta is also one such institute which focuses less on acads. You have a chance to get into the cap IIMs which are newly setup.

You can become a top management professional in whichever field/domain you want or suits you the best.

You can reach out to us for more information regarding admissions, entrance tests, syllabus etc.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

Yes,you can go graduation arts from IGNOU, you can take admission in the July Cycle of this year, usually application process commence in the month of May onwards but due to ongoing covid 19 pandemic there may be a delay.

Coming to UPSC, in order to appear for this exam, you  need to be 21 years old and passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, you can apply even in your final year.

The best thing about UPSC is it doesn't discriminate among aspirants and hence allow people from all background to appear for this exam, and we see people from diverse fields appearing as well as qualifying for this prestigious exam.

To give you a brief of this exam;

UPSC Civil Service Exam consists of three level

  • Preliminary
  • Mains
  • Interview

Preliminary mainly consists of two paper GS Paper-I with  following topic such as History of India and Indian national movement, Indian and World geography, Economic and social development- sustainable development, poverty, inclusion demographics, social sector initiatives etc,Indian polity and governance-constitution,political system,Current Events nationally and Internationally, General Science,General Issues on environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change.

and CSAT includes topics such as basic numeracy, comprehension, logical reasoning and analytical ability, general mental ability, decision making and problem solving, interpersonal skills including communication skills. It's a qualifying paper, you need to secure 33% in order to pass.

Both the paper consists of 200 marks and are MCQs based. Preliminary numbers are not added in the final list, you just need to score the required cut offs against your category

Coming to Mains it's more of a subjective type, it has Four General Studies Paper such as
GS-I includes Indian Heritage and Culture,History and Geography of the World and Society,

When it comes to reading books, start with basics, for each subject, you can do with NCERTs for this. As you progress, move on to other relevant books, keep your resources minimum like Polity by Laxmikanth, History of Modern India by Bipin Chandra etc.
Start practicing answer writing in advance, even in a little way, writing mains is a huge task for nine paper, it requires immense practice along with knowledge.

what is sponsorship in GME course?

Suryashis Chakraborty 22nd Mar, 2020

Hello Abi,

Sponsorship in GME basically means a job guarantee. Getting sponsored for GME by a shipping company means that one will be guaranteed a job as a Fifth engineer on-board after the GME programme. Sponsorship exams are conducted by companies on a regular basis.

However, sponsorship only mean that candidates will be guaranteed jobs once they complete their training. The whole course fee will have to be paid by the candidates and the company will not be accounted for the same.

Hope this helps you. We wish you the best for your future endeavours!
