I failed in additional subject in class 12 but overall passed in class 12 so if I crack CAT exam than can I get admission in MBA college like fms IIM lucknow etc ? and right now Im in graduation with above 55 percent till 3rd semester

rajaman9300 Student Expert 9th May, 2020

No there won't be any problem until and unless you are applying for the course which you have failed in, i.e if you have failed in Biology (PCMB) then you can't apply for MBBS.

Coming to the CAT issue, let me tell that for the initial Calling in IIM L only 20% weightage is given to class 12th and Graduation remaining 80 is divided between CAT score(65%) and 15% (Work Exp.).

FMS Delhi gives CAT score a weightage of 95% or sometimes 100%

Hi, I belong to EWS category. My 10th score is 9.2 cgpa, 12th 49.4% (com.)and appering in graduation (Bcom.) 2nd year. If I will score 70 or 75 percent in final year and in CAT 95%ile, then will i get call from iims( A, B, C schools)??

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 27th Mar, 2020
Hello,
For getting a call from top IIMs(A B C) you need to secure atleast 99+ percentile. However there are lots of other factors involved such as discipline of graduation, work experience etc.
IIMs prefer a mix of candidates in a particular batch. So for engineers the cutoff would be higher as no of applicants with engineering are very high. And for not so popular courses the cutoff is usually lower by a few points.
So it would be best to start preparing for CAT and aim for 99+ percentile.
And also maintaining a good graduation score.

can I get into iim banglore with good Marks in graduation around 9 cgpa and above 80+ in 12th and less percentage in 10th

Adil Suaib Khan Student Expert 26th Mar, 2020

Hi,

Yes, absolutely you have an average score in your class 10th and 12th and a good one in Graduation, keeping them in mind it won't be that difficult  for you to get calls from most of the old IIMs as they value academics.

If you have a commerce course in Undergraduation then you'll need around 98+ percentile to get a call from IIM B in particular. If you pursue B.tech then the scenarios might change drastically and you'll need a 99+ percentile without work-ex.

There are many other factors too that they judge before calling you for an interview.

See if you get certain amount of work ex of maybe 2 years then it'll be relatively easier for you and then you can get a call at 95+ percentile too.

You can reach out to us for more information regarding admissions, entrance tests, syllabus etc.
