Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
Hi,
11th Standard is not that Late to start prepare for JEE. You can very well Start your preparation now. For JEE Mains , you should Focus on Text books like NCERT and previous year Papers. JEE Advanced has more depth in syllabus than JEE Mains. Most of the state boards has similar syllabus what is required for JEE Mains. If you clear you concepts in syllabus of XI and XII, then you can very well get good rank in JEE Mains.
I hope this will answer your query.
Thanks!!!!
Hello,
It is commendable that you have a big aim and you wish to ace it. Preparation leads the road to success and it requires certain strategy.
An entrance exam Of JEE Mains and JEE Advance level tests your understanding of complex concepts. So first and foremost thing is you should have a very clear understanding of concepts of a vast syllabus for Engineering entrance examination.
You can develop this only by referring to books other than you state board course , hence you should refer other books that would help in building concepts.
For detailed explanation of strategy and method of preparation for JEE exam you can follow the following link -

Hello there, aspirant
For astrophysics, IISER only accepts BS-MS on the basis of JEE advanced, KVPY, and SCB.
It accepts PhD applicants through the GATE/JEST test.
Check out the Indian Institute of Astrophysics if you wish to pursue a master's degree in astrophysics.
IISER only accepts students who have completed a BS-MS programme at their institution.
I hope this information is useful.
All the best.
Only few IITs offers BTech in Aerospace Engineering. Following is the fee structure of IIT Bombay:
Fee structure of IIST is given below:
Based on your category and Income , student could get fees remission upto 100%. These are Institute fees and hostel fees are seperately payable.
I hope this will solve your query.
See if you want to go for the ISRO then it would be better for you to go for IIST the reason behind it is because if you score above 8.5 in your UG course in IIST you get a chance to get directly placed in ISRO. Now NASA have a separate procedure and one have to apply corresponding to the vacancy created there. So if you have the passion to go direct in ISRO then go for IIST. Now if you wish to go for IIT then IIT KANPUR have the best infrastructure and the faculties for Aerospace Engineering. The sequence is followed by IIT KGP, IIT B etc. But this doesn't give you a certainty to get job in ISRO but you can go for ISRO based on the ICRB entrance.

Hope this helps
Wish you luck
More than 500 students apply for admission in IIST. Only those who score a decent marks in JEE Advanced (at least 200), have chances of being eligible to get admission in IIST.
Hope it helps.
Hello Aspirant. I hope you are in good health. It seems you are interested in getting admission at IIST. Well, in brief I can say, the ranking varies greatly in terms of difficulty of question paper. If JEE Advanced paper is easy then you need to score more than 210 to get a stream in IIST. While if the paper is marked as difficult (as in 2016), then you will have to get above 130 . To play the game safely, try to bring your rank below 8000 in JEE Advanced.
Before ending the answer, let me give you some data.
In 2018, for General Category,
For B.Tech Aerospace Engineering, Cutoff score was 34.17%
For B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Cutoff score was 33.05%
For Dual Degree, Cutoff score was 36.39%.
Please note, This assumption is based on the fact that you are general. If you belong to any other category, kindly go through this article:
