If you consider M.Sc Medical Microbiology, you can go for research institutes based on the medically important bacterial and other microbial population related work. If you select the M.Sc in MLT you can go for hospitals for mainly diagnosis work.

The route to M.Sc. Microbiology course is through entrance exam.
Every institute follows a selection process of its own. Most of them accept scores of entrance tests conducted by them.
M.Sc. Applied Microbiologyis a 2 year post graduate microbiology course. The basic eligibility criteria for this course is that the candidate must possess B.Sc. (Hons)/B.Sc. with 10+2+3 pattern with two of the subjects in its syllabus like Botany, Zoology, Biotech, Microbial, Chemistry, Industrial Microbial, Lif Sci, Environmental Sci. with at least 50% marks in concerned degree.
