What is the most effective way to study the NCERT books for JEE Main and BITSAT (2021)?

rehan18alam Student Expert 20th Mar, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Study all the concepts, and once you have found something difficult to understand use some external resources like Help books, or online explanations. The examples in NCERT are very very important for competitive exams as they are sometimes directly asked in the JEE with slight changes.

For physics, also try to solve the exercise questions as they have really good questions and once again you should use some external sources for this.

For chemsistry, do give NCERT a read in the last month of your preparation as there are many inline text questions in JEE main from there.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

sir good evening as per ur advice ncert book read ing 3 to 4 times according to biology ok sir in chemistry and physcics only calculation deravatives come sir we should prepare how sir plse tell

Sai Sri Nandan Ch 19th Mar, 2020

Hello,

It is really good that you are going through your NCERT text books. This will help you to keep your basics stronger and will help a lot in your higher studies.

Reading NCERT will let you answer theory questions and elaborate your answer.

Particularly in Chemistry, class 12 Board paper will consist a lot of direct NCERT questions.

So, I suggest you solve NCERT exercises given at end of each chapter for Physics and Chemistry. Later on, you can check Arihant Previous Year Papers Book for quick revision and learning about the type of questions asked.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

PYQ is important or NCERT questions

Ankita yadav 18th Mar, 2020
Hi aspirant
For board exams NCERT is the best book. Preparing from other side books is also good but firstly complete NCERT and jump to other books. PYQ is also good but do NCERT first then PYQ and other sample papers.

Hello,

Yes, CBSE schools follow the NCERT National Council of Educational Research and Training books and teachers prefer those books to  the students.

Therefore CBSE Books are NCERT book and almost all the CBSE Schools use these books to teach the students and these books are very beneficial to prepare for entrance exams.

All the best!

Hi, tomorrow is my Maths exam (Class 12)... will NCERT be enough??

Pompi Bhadra 16th Mar, 2020
Hello, Mayuri!
If you have clearly understood all the concepts prescribed by CBSE class 12th Mathematics syllabus, practiced all the NCERT textbook questions and examples well, it can fetch you good marks, depending on the difficulty level of the question paper and how better you manage and distribute your time during the exam hours. But if you want to further enhance your performance, practice CBSE sample papers and previous year question papers (atleast go once through the question papers of the last five years, keeping in view the time you're left with now). You can also refer to R. D. Sharma's reference book (the most popular source for practice and reference during our days) in addition to this. However, the most important part is to revise whatever you have learnt well.

Hope it helps you.
All the very best!

reading ncert is enough fot neet or not

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 16th Mar, 2020
Hi

Yes, Information given in NCERT is enough for your neet examination, around 90 percent of the questions or more in your neet examination are from ncert .

But , yes you may find it difficult to understand each and every topic from ncert , also ncert doesn't provide you mcqs to practice.

So what you need to do is that you can follow books like Trueman's biology for reference to understand difficult topics , dc pandey for physics and op Tandon for chemistry.

After finishing each chapter you should practice numericals and mcqs . You should practise numericals and mcqs , go through past 39 year chapterwise papers of neet aipmt book for each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology by arihant and once you are done with the complete neet syllabus go through mock test papers.

Thank you

Hello Student,

My NEET 2019 Score was 626 , out of which in Biology I was able to score 330+, I will try to help you as much as I can.

1.  To Improve biology from your current status I would suggest you solve NCERT Fingertips book of MTG and check all your doubts again and again. The book is based totally on NCERT and will help you understand how to master NCERT. Since you have already read it  5-6 time , this books will help you a lot to improve.

2. Give Mock tests, if you are able to solve physics and chemistry nicely then just solve the Biology section in the tests and then review your mistakes .

3. Lastly do not forget to check all the diagrams in NCERT as many questions are asked from diagrams directly.

Refer to the link below more mock test related information :

I am thorough with bio ncert.is it enough to get 300+.or trueman is necessary to score this mark.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 12th Mar, 2020

If you are enquiring about NEET, then Biology  is the biggest section in NEET, comprising about half of the exam, and acing this subject can help you in scoring more in the exam. Human Physiology and Genetics have maximum weightage in NEET. It is advisable to practise questions of Genetics from previous year question papers, which will give you a thorough understanding of how the questions are being asked. Topics of Plant and Animal kingdom have a lot of portion to memorize. You can prepare these topics by making a comparative table for the sub-topics and studying it together. Plant physiology is also equally important and easy to score. For more tips, please visit our page at: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/how-prepare-for-neet-biology . NCERT covers 98% of the syllabus and it should be fine but few other books might also help you score good. We have NEET Knock out series if you want to prepare for NEET: https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet-may/ .

in neet ncert is enough for organic chemistry?

rehan18alam Student Expert 12th Mar, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Never rely on just one book for preparation of exams like NEET. These exams need more then just one book as no book can completely contains the quality of questions which can be asked. I'd rather suggest you must take some coaching material of some institute alongside NCERT to get a variety of questions. You can check out NEET Knockout programme also. It contains all the material you need.

rehan18alam Student Expert 11th Mar, 2020

Dear Aspirant

You must buy NCERT textbooks as they are good textbooks and contains all the syllabus. It is advisable to go through NCERT textbooks too, along with the study material as these books are directly based on the syllabus by CBSE and most competitive exams based on 12th.

Hope this helps. Thank you.
