tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 24th Jun, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

Your chances of making it to RGIPT rai bariely is definitely not good,  because as per the last year trends the closing cutoff for RGIPT for both the available branches for OBC category was about 5k and your rank is much higher than this. So you can't get a seat in RGIPT at this rank
Hope I am clear.

Chemical engineering RGIPT placement

harshita_1558773432 Student Expert 20th Jun, 2019

Dear aspirant

Chemical engineering at RGIPT is quit good and decent in terms of education, faculty and many more. It has an amazing learning environment and is the only college in India where psus do visit every year. If you are a rank holder at the institute you would surely be placed or getting into Psus in IOCL , BPCL or HPCL only through the campus visiting interview session. So the chances are good enough to be placed  from this well known institute.

Good luck!

adyasamohanty611_9299468 Student Expert 14th Jun, 2019

Hi Aspirant

Since you have not mentioned any category I will assume that you belong to the general category and answer according to that.

With this rank you cannot get a seat in any IIT .

Last year cutoff rank for RGIPT Amethi

Chemical engineering - 16841

Petroleum engineering - 14242

With this rank you might get a seat in Indian institute of petroleum and energy Vishakhapatnam in chemical engineering.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Hello Sandeep

I am assuming you are intersted in knowing the placement scenario of B.Tech at RGIPT, Raebareli. The institute offers a full time four years course in B.tech in Petroleum Engineering as well as in Chemical Engineering. Candidates get admitted to the institution after clearing JEE. Admissions in the institute are based on the JEE Advanced Rank.

The closing rank for Chemical branch was 16841 for General category, 6576 for Obc category and 2864 for SC.

The closing rank for Petroleum branch was 14242 for General category, 5190 for Obc category, 2639 for Sc categoy and 886 for St category.

Placement at RGPIT are fairly good and improving with years. In 2018 almost 40% of the students got placed from the institute. Out of which 30% of the students got placed in PSUs like IOCL and ONGC with an average package of 8 lac per annum (approx). While the creamy layer got placed with a package od 11 lacs (approx).

The rest of the 10 % of students still got a decent package of 6-7 lacs per annum with a private firm or organization like Shell Inida, Wipro Ltd and Haldia Petrochemicals. The rest of the 50% is settles with off campus placements, start-ups, govt. jobs throuhj SSC and various other undertaking through entrance exams.

Remaining 10% of the students opted for further studies in abroad or in Inida. The placement at RGPIT in the year 2018 was seemingly average due to lower prices of oils and jobs cut. Well, the placements at RGPIT in the previous years was 14 out of 37 students from petroleum got placed in PSUs.
