Apurva anand 16th Oct, 2019

Hello Souvik, It would take around 8-9 years for becoming a professional surgeon if you want to do the speciality course too. The Bacherlor's course in surgery also known as MBBS is of 5.5 years in india. Then if you want to go for masters in surgery then it will take another 3 years to complete this course. The benefit of this profession is that you would get to help other peoples because you will be doing surgery. Also, there is a lot of money in this field if you want to know about the financial side.

What is the salary of a Doctor and Surgeon in US Public Health Services?

Ronak Gala Student Expert 15th Oct, 2019

First of all to get into US,  you need to give the USMILE  step 1,2 & 3. Even doctors from India earn the same as much as a surgeon from US earns. I'll give you some analysis that I've come across.. Depending upon the field in which you have done your mastery, you earn accordingly. The highest pay check goes to doctors from the Orthopedics department and that is $ 443,000 dollars per annum.. As a surgeon, you can earn around $23,000 - $35,000 per annum in US PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES.

Thank you.

dear sir/madam please help me. I want become a surgeon what I want to study?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 12th Oct, 2019

Dear Arun, for starters, you need to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology in your 10+2 and score a minimum aggregate of 50% in these 3 subjects. It is 50% if you belong to General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. Now that makes you eligible for NEET. Once you appear for NEET and secure a rank, you will have to study MBBS for 5 and 1/2 years which includes mandatory 1 year internship. Now all this while we had NEET PG as an entrance examination for MD/MS courses. But in the next 3 years, it is going to change. Based on the requisites after you finish your MBBS, you have to study MS and then you will be a surgeon.
