Qualifying Exam

Candidates who aspire to become a surgeon should obtain MBBS degree from any university recognized by Medical Council of India. Then they should obtain MS degree in General Surgery to practice as a surgeon in any health care organization. They can obtain any specialization in surgery after that. For that they should obtain MCh degree from any Institute approved by Medical Council of India. Surgeons specialized in any field can get more salary and reputation in Medical field. 1. Netherlands - Around $ 2,50,000 dollars, i.e., 1,75,00,000 INR per annum.

2. Australia - Around $ 2,45,000 dollars, i.e., 1,71,50,000 INR per annum.

3. United States - Around $ 2,30,000 dollars, i.e., 1,61,00,000 INR per annum.

Neurosurgeons require slightly more training than orthopaedic surgeons, and earn considerably more on average. An orthopaedic surgeon may work in private practice in an office setting as well as in a surgical hospital setting, while neurosurgeons are usually found exclusively in hospitals. The Earnings are same no matter in which country they are practicing .

What is the salary of Neurosurgeon in both India and United States?

Neurosurgeons are specialized surgeons who focus on the brain, spine, and nervous system, and correcting neurological issues through surgery.

An Initial salary of neurosurgeon is more than 6,00,000 per annum in India. There are some factors which depends salary:-

•Which city or state are you working in? Because some states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, etc. Pays high salary than others.

•The size of hospital also one  Important factor.

The starting salary of neurosurgeon is 1,90,000 $ per annum in US.

The salary of a neurosurgeon in India depends upon various parameters such as the skill, the experience, the place of practice, the industry and also the size of the enterprise you are working for.

Note: The salaries given below are based on the median range.

  • Generally, if you have the experience of 1 to 4 years, your salary as a neurosurgeon will range between Rs. 5,70,000 to Rs. 35,49,296 yearly. If the experience is more than 5 years, it will range between 14,40,000 to 28,75,000 per annum.
  • This also varies regarding the industry . In the healthcare industry, the salary ranges for Rs. 3,32,748 to Rs. 48,45,951 yearly. In Hospitals, it ranges between Rs. 3,22,183 to Rs. 45,73,711per annum. In Medical Services, it ranges between Rs. 3,42,441 to Rs. 41,25,355 per annum.

Hi there,

For becoming a surgeon in India the following eligibility is required

  • Completing MBBS in an recognized University
  • Applying for Masters in surgery which is MS
  • Completing masters in any specialization such as Nose, nuerology, pediatric etc.
  • After that if needed a doctor can apply for more specialization.
  • Completing the mandatory duty in a hospital or medical collage
  • After that a doctor can apply in private hospitals or government hospitals for job.

A person can work as doctor in foreign countries by completing certain procedures such as USMLE exam for US and intership periods which is needed for various countries. After getting abroad, you have to apply for medical practise to get the certified residency certificate.

If you want to become a surgeon, you need to complete your Undergraduate MBBS degree first. Then, you need to do a Postgraduate course in a surgery-related field i.e. you need to do a Master of Surgery (MS) course. After completing your MS course, you can start working as a surgeon.
