Hello,

Hope you are doing well.

Coming to your question, it isn't very clear what you are asking about.

If you are asking for points about the topic ' Online learning and higher education scenario in India' to discuss in a group discussion then I have shared some points below.

ONLINE LEARNING

Pros of Online learning

  • More flexible and convenient : You don't have to waste your time travelling to your Institution, instead all that you need is a smart phone/laptop and a stable Internet connection. Also Ed-tech platform offers courses that are flexible and can be adjusted according to the students’ convenience.
  • Use of virtual tools like graphics/ videos makes it the students to understand the concepts better.
  • Reduced costs: Most of the reading or reference materials are accessible online,  helping us to save a lot of money spend on buying the physical version. Also online study enables you to stay at home, so you don't have to spend on hostel and transportation fees.
  • Offers a wide selection of programs: Apart from your syllabus you can enroll for courses of your interest, as online platforms offer courses in various fields.

Cons of Online learning

  • Lack of social interaction : Students don't get a chance to interact face to face with their peers, which is very much required to maintain a healthy social life.
  • Not easily accessible in remote areas: Many people, specially in villages,  do not have access to required devices and internet connection, making it very difficult for the students to attend the classes.
  • Excess exposure to screen time: This can affect the students adversely. Not only is it good for your health, but it also creates a sense of isolation.

HIGHER EDUCATION:

  • India's higher education system is the third largest in the world, next to the United States and China.
  • Students are evaluated in terms of basic theoretical knowledge helping the students learn in depth about the topic.
  • Also Indian Universities have started going Global by taking part in student exchange programs, where Foreign students are given an opportunity to study in India and Indian students are given an opportunity to International educational systems.
  • It also incorporates new methods of teaching, in the form of smart classrooms, educational tours, Laboratory visits, workshops, etc, which have proved to be more efficient to the students.
  • There are also many new low quality institutes  coming up all over the country, which is not good for higher education.
  • Marks are given more importance. Many colleges still give prime importance to the marks you score in your Board exams over the Entrance exam scores,  which results in many deserving students not getting their desired courses in the college they wish to study and instead have to go for the less preferred ones

If your question was regarding something else then I kindly request you to ask the question again giving more details.

Good Luck
