You have to appear for UGC NET first of all. Once you clear the exam you'll have to wait for vacancies to arise in different colleges. 

Moreover you can simply approach an Institute with your resume if the Institute has a requirement and start your career from there. But for government Institutions the selection is through NET or JRF only.
