There are two mode of admission to B.Tech  Program in Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. The two modes are-
1. Mode1
Admission on the basis of JEE Main score. 70 percent of the seats are filled on the basis of percentile based JEE Main.
2. Mode2
Admission on the basis of 10+2 marks
The remaining 20 percent seats are filled on the basis of merit of 10+2 marks in Physics and Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
