- Priority will be given to GATE-qualified candidates who have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their qualifying degree from a recognised university. For SC/ST and industry-sponsored candidates, the minimum required aggregate is 55%
- After offering seats to the GATE-qualified candidates, the admission to the remaining vacant seats (if any) shall be filled based on merit prepared by giving 30% weightage to 12th marks and 70% weightage to B.E./B.Tech. marks*
- Final selection is done on the basis of the marks secured by candidates in the entrance examination, past academic performance, and several other parameters.
- Selected candidates are required to submit documents and pay course fees to secure admission.
* Only in the CSED, MED, CED and ECED departments, the seats remaining vacant after offering to the GATE qualified candidates shall be filled by conducting offline test.

Academics
Studying here requires consistency because the semester can get busy with tests, submissions and practical work. Not every subject feels equally interesting, and sometimes the focus is more on completing the course requirements than understanding everything deeply
College Infra
The first thing I noticed about thapar was the size of the campus and the amount of space available for students. There are different academic blocks, study areas and places to spend time between classes. Some areas get crowded during busy hours, but the overall setup is good.
Campus Life
Meeting people, joining student groups and taking part in events make the experience interesting. Some weeks can feel hectic because of academic deadlines, but there is usually something happening outside the classroom as well.
Placements
Since I am from the 2029 batch, my own final placement outcome is not available yet. From a student’s perspective, career opportunities are something to prepare for early rather than leave until the last year
Value For Money
Joining Thapar involves a considerable financial commitment. The college provides exposure and access to different resources, but students need to take initiative to make full use of them. I would say the experience depends partly on what you do with the opportunities available.

The academic workload can be stressful, especially during exams and lab evaluations. Teaching quality varies between professors, and students often have to study topics independently to understand them properly. Managing assignments along with coding practice is not always easy.
College Infra
The campus looks impressive, and the classrooms, labs and library are good. However, some facilities can get crowded, and the high fees make you expect even better services.All necessary facilities available within the campus
Campus Life
Campus life is enjoyable, but it does not make up for every drawback.There are plenty of clubs and activities and making friends is easy. However, academic pressure, attendance requirements and hostel expenses can sometimes affect the experience.
Placements
Placements are a major concern because expectations are quite high for students at Thapar. Competition is tough, and getting a good package is not easy for everyone. Students need to prepare for coding rounds and interviews on their own rather than depending only on college support
Value For Money

The course covers both electrical and computer-related subjects. Some subjects can be challenging, but the faculty and course material help in understanding the concepts. Overall the quality of teaching is better than a government college.
College Infra
The campus has good infrastructure, well-equipped labs, a library and comfortable classrooms. There are enough facilities for students to study and work on projects. Full Cse block is fully centralized air conditioned
Campus Life
campus life is the most happiest thing in my college. I love to explore the college in my free time. It is about 250 acres land where my college is build. Exploring the college with a group of good friend is the best thing.
Placements
I got placed at SEW.ai, which was a good start to my career. Placement opportunities depend on your skills, preparation and performance in interviews. Average package in my batch was around 11.75 lpa base.
Value For Money
The fees are on the higher side, but the college provides good facilities and placement opportunities. Students should make proper use of the resources available to get the most out of their time here. Overall Roi is not bad.
