If you are a good student, with decent 12th score, and good academic background, it is not going to be difficult. It might be difficult in the beginning, but later it is going to get easy. If engineering is you passion, interest, then choose engineering. If you are good, you can definitely succeed. If engineering is not your primary interest, then mention it in the comments section to get a definite answer.

You can definitely study Engineering after 2 years of gap, but the problems that you will face will be at the time of placements, because at that time the companies that will come for placement will definitely ask a question regarding your 2delay which you should be answerable with a valid and convincing reason.
