Madras Institute of Technology in Chennai is one of the oldest institutes in the country and therefore the eligibility criteria is as follows:
The basic minimum eligibility for UG courses is 10+2 in Science stream with 50% marks in PCM

For PG courses, the basic eligibility criteria is a graduate degree in the relevant discipline, and for research programs, post-graduate degree or diploma in the relevant discipline is required

BE/BTech candidates are selected on the basis of TNEA counselling.

M.Tech candidates are selected on the basis of merit.

Candidates who have appeared for TANCET/GATE can apply for direct admission to PG course.

Application forms are available both online and offline. Other states candidates can apply for BE/B.Tech course online through TNEA website

Candidates are required to attach self-attested copies of relevant documents as stated in the information brochure, along with the application form

The attachments should also contain a copy of receipt of the prescribed registration fees.

All applications should reach the TNEA office on or before the specified last date.

Candidate must have a Tamil Nadu domicile.

Other state candidates can also apply provided they have sought education from class VIII to XII in Tamil Nadu.
