Drop of 1 year. Not doing a job. Working in an NGO full time. Doing various courses to build profile. Would that invite trouble in PI?

Hello Sahil, 

I don't think so that this is a problem. Because you have been very active in your drop year so you have a lot of things to say to the interviewer. 

You can easily make this situation a very positive thing on your interview.
